The Economic Progress and Innovation Center (EPIC) successfully organized another edition of its Baat-Cheet discussion series on the theme “AI, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Freedom.” The session brought together students, entrepreneurs, digital marketing professionals, media practitioners, and young innovators to discuss how artificial intelligence is reshaping the entrepreneurial landscape and creating new opportunities for economic growth.
Centered around the guiding question, “How can AI strengthen entrepreneurship and expand economic freedom?”, the discussion examined the growing role of AI in reducing barriers to business creation, improving productivity, and enabling entrepreneurs to develop innovative products and services. Participants explored how AI-powered tools are making it easier for individuals and small businesses to compete, automate routine tasks, improve customer engagement, analyze market trends, and access global markets with limited resources.
The session also highlighted the relationship between entrepreneurship and economic freedom. Participants discussed how a supportive environment with fewer unnecessary barriers, access to technology, open markets, and innovation-friendly policies allows entrepreneurs to take risks, create jobs, and contribute to economic development. The conversation emphasized that while AI is a powerful tool, its full potential can only be realized in an environment where individuals have the freedom to innovate, invest, and build businesses.
The keynote session was led by Amit Jha, Senior Software Engineer at Fusemachines Nepal, who shared practical insights into the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and its real-world applications across industries. Drawing on his professional experience, he demonstrated how entrepreneurs and businesses can leverage AI to enhance efficiency, improve decision-making, develop customer-focused solutions, and remain competitive in an increasingly digital economy. He also encouraged participants to embrace continuous learning and adapt to emerging technologies as AI becomes an integral part of business operations.
The interactive nature of the discussion allowed participants to exchange ideas, ask questions, and share their perspectives on the opportunities and challenges associated with AI adoption. Topics included the future of work, responsible use of AI, digital skills, business innovation, and the importance of preparing young people for an AI-driven economy.
